Safeguarding & Child Protection

The safety and dignity of a child always outranks fundraising. If telling a story well would put a child at risk, we do not tell it. No photograph, statistic, or update is worth more than the child in it.

• Nothing is published without the consent of the home's leadership and the child's guardian, and children are asked too — a child may decline or change their mind at any time.
• We never publish a child's full name, school details, exact residence, or any combination of details that could allow a stranger to locate them.
• We do not publish images of children in distress, undressed, injured, or in any state that strips their dignity, and we do not stage photographs for fundraising.
• Captions describe what is happening truthfully. We do not invent or embellish a child's circumstances.
• Any image is withdrawn on request from the child, their guardian, or the home's leadership — immediately and without needing a reason.

We do not offer donor visits, volunteer placements, sponsorship of individual children, or any arrangement that gives outsiders contact with children in exchange for money. Anyone working with children on this programme does so under Compass Rose International's supervision, having been screened and background-checked, and is never alone with a child without a second adult present.

• Field accounts are role-limited: field users can submit reports and photos but cannot publish them.
• An authorised reviewer at Compass Rose International approves what becomes public, and every submission and approval is written to an audit log.
• Media is stored in private, access-controlled storage and served only through short-lived signed links.
• Aid is never conditional on a photograph, an interview, or participation in a story.

If you believe a child has been harmed or placed at risk by anyone connected to this programme, or that any content on this site breaches these commitments, report it. Concerns may be raised anonymously, are taken seriously without exception, and no one who raises a concern in good faith will face retaliation.
